Guided and flapless implant placement
Digital planning and a surgical guide can assist implant placement. In suitable cases a flapless approach may be considered. Implant placement is still a surgical procedure; the phrase “non-surgical implant” must not be understood as having no surgical intervention.
Suitability and planning
The dentist assesses bone, soft tissues and the proposed restoration. Guided surgery can be performed with or without raising a gum flap. It supports, but does not replace, clinical assessment and treatment planning.
Expectations and aftercare
There is no guarantee of no pain, swelling, stitches, infection or other complications. The appropriate approach and recovery instructions depend on your own case. Ask your dentist to explain the reasons for the recommendation and available alternatives.
